This workshop is designed for professionals currently working or desiring to work in the field of Family and Domestic Violence. It will focus on therapeutic models used to work effectively with perpetrators of family and domestic violence such as Dr Steven Stosny's Compassion/Power Model and Alan Jenkins Invitation to Responsibility within the framework of The Duluth Model. It is preferable that participants have prior understanding of the Best Practice Principles and Competency Standards of State and Federal Government family and domestic violence initiatives.

Course Outcomes

• Explored aspects of the models mentioned above
• Knowledge of the theoretical workings of these models
• Developed practical skills for the clinical application of the models

About the Presenter:

Vanda Francke is a Social worker with extensive experience in the area of Family and Domestic Violence Services. She has been involved in the initial development of counselling services for victims of violence; developing strategies for early intervention into family and domestic violence, training for community services within this framework; working with perpetrators of family and domestic violence; Vanda is currently the Coordinator of family and domestic services at KinWay
