Changing Tracks

Changing Tracks is for you when:

  • you realise your anger or violence is getting out of hand
  • you realise you are hurting your family and yourself
  • your partner has repeatedly asked you to seek help
  • your children do not want to communicate with you any more
  • your partner has applied for a Violence Restraining Order
  • you received a Court order to participate in the Department of Justice Program
  • your actions towards your partner may be classified as humiliation, intimidation, injury, abuse, threats, disrespect, pushing, hitting or they may otherwise hurt and damage the one(s) you love and cause them to live in fear of you

Changing Tacks

  • programs are designed to meet the needs of those violent or abusive people who have come to realize that “all is not well” with them or with their family relations.
  • aims to assist program participants to motivate change in their lives by making choices towards compassionate relationships free of abuse.
  • main focus is on group work and individual sessions for those who are violent.
  • is open for self-referrals, Court referrals, community service providers and others.
  • is part of KinWay's response to domestic and family violence.
  • It is one of a number of initiatives endorsed and supported by the Great Southern Domestic Violence Intervention Project.

KinWay works closely and collaboratively with other agencies and programs involved in providing services to people affected by Family and Domestic Violence.

The Changing Tracks program helps people to change their lives by making choices towards abuse free and compassionate relationships.

Confidentiality

All facilitators are bound by an Oath of Confidentiality in relation to group sessions. However, in the event that there is a threat to an individual's safety, adult or child, confidentiality may be waived.

 

Are the Facilitators qualified?

All KinWay staff have tertiary qualifications with many having post graduate qualifications. All staff are supervised and undertake ongoing training and professional development.

 

KinWay is approved by the Commonwealth Department of Family and Community Services (FaCS) to provide group programs under the Family Relationship Services Program (FRSP). The FRSP is jointly funded by FaCS and the Commonwealth Attorney-General's Department.
