Introduction to Family and Domestic Violence

This workshop offers participants an understandingof the prevalence, effects and best practice approach when working in the field of family and domestic violence.

Working with Victims and Perpetrators of Family and Domestic Violence

Date: Friday 16 May

Time: 9:30-4:00pm

Cost: $154.00

Working with victims and perpetrators of Family and Domestic Violence focussing on general clinical interventions. Particular issues such as transference, countertransference, resistance, and collusion will be covered.

Clinical Applications to Working With Perpetrators of Family and Domestic Violence

Date: Thursday 19 and Friday 20 June

Duration: 2 days

Working effectively with perpetrators of family and domestic violence within an innovative and highly successful model (Compassion Power - Steven Stosny PhD) in terms of changing the tracks of violent behaviour to achieve positive, non-violent relationships.

Clinical Application to Working With Aboriginal Clients in Terms of Family and Domestic Violence

This one day workshop explores the concepts involved with working with Aboriginal clients in a clinical environment where family and domestic violence is present. Specific cultural awareness is required for working with Aboriginal clients and for the clinical interventions within this awareness.

Understanding and working with emotional abuse.  What to look out for -- the difficulties of definition in therapeutic application, and working effectively with this particular form of abuse.
