Introduction to Counselling DOWNLOAD P.D. Calendar (PDF) Commences: Saturday 2 August 2008 Time: 9:30-12:30pm Duration: 8 weeks Cost: $484 This 8-week course is an introduction to counselling and is designed for people who require basic skills in the area of counselling. People with a background in Education, Pastoral Care, Nursing, Reception, Medicine, Complementary Therapy Practice and other related helping professions would find this course most beneficial. At completion participants will be able to demonstrate the basic skills of helpful listening and responding, present basic problem solving strategies and display an understanding of their personal growth process. Aim: To present an integrated introduction to counselling & problem solving skills, theory and practice.

About the Presenter: Catherine Duce holds a Bachelor of Psychology and has worked in Anglicare's Children Contact Services, Y.E.S! Housing, the West Australian Aids Council's Families with HIV and as a youth worker for Anglicare's Step 1 Streetwork program. Catherine has extensive experience in informal crisis counselling and case management to street present young people. She has facilitated many groups including P.O.W – Power of Women - focusing on healthy relationships, Working with Difficult Young People and PASH – Promoting Adolescent Sexual Heath groups.
