CHC 80207 Vocational Graduate Diploma in Family Dispute Resolution
This qualification offered by Anglicare WA Training Services is the required qualification needed to seek employment within the Community Services Industry and meet the requirements of the Attorney General in the provision of services funded under the Australian Government's Family Relationship Services Program. The Family Law (Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner) Regulations 2008 This qualification the Vocational Graduate Diploma in Family Dispute Resolution relates to dispute resolution practitioners working in agencies or independently to provide dispute resolution services and interventions for families experiencing high levels of relationship conflict and/or where the clients may be involved in the Family Law system. Dispute resolution in this qualification has a direct link to the provisions of the Family Law Act.
Practitioners at this level are making high level, independent, complex judgements in highly specialised contexts. Some practitioner roles may also involve full responsibility and accountability for all aspects of work of self and others functions including, program planning, budget, strategy, design and analysis.
Entry Requirements Anglicare WA Training Services is committed to ensuring only those that have the appropriate qualifications become FDR practitioners to this end participants seeking entry to this qualification must demonstrate the following: An undergraduate degree or higher qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Law, Conflict Management, Dispute Resolution, Family Law Mediation or equivalent
Anglicare WA Training Services can be approached by clients who do not hold one of these qualifications and negotiate entry. You should discuss this first with the Training Manager.
Units of Competency 10 competency units are required for this qualification, including: 6 compulsory units 4 elective units The following units of competency are offered in 2009: Core Competencies

Anglicare WA Training Services has liaised with industry on the selection of these electives and has identified these electives as appropriate for the industry.
The following electives may also be offered: CHCDFV817A Manage domestic and family violence and abuse screening and risk assessment processes CHCCS501A Assess and respond to individuals at risk of self-harm or suicide
Career Opportunities On completion of this course your career opportunities will include the following : Family Relationships Mediator Study Method and Course Length This course is offered in a flexible mode. This mean you will be able to do some of the study in your own time, you can attend some face to face training and some training can be done on the job. It is expected that you will complete this course within a 12 month period.
Recognition of Prior Experience or Study/Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) RPL is the acknowledgment of current skills and knowledge which have been gained from a range of experiences including work, volunteering, study and general life experiences. It is achieved through the assessment of evidence you provide against a set of criteria in a qualification. Fees apply. National Recognition Anglicare WA Training Services recognises qualifications and statements of attainment issued byother Registered Training Organisations (RTO's) where they carry the National and State Training bodies logo and the RTO registration number. If you wish to claim against these documents or have them accepted as entry to a course you will need to have the originals sighted and verified by the Training Manager.
